Do the team jersies have to have numbers on both the front and back?

It says so in the rule book, but in practice, is that always the case?

the rules say yes, but the refs don`t care at all. the actually don`t even care if you have numbers or not, just as long as your colors are opposite of the other team your fine. that`s what one of the refs told me.

I can recall in last fall season coaches meeting there was to be a rule that all teams needed to wear a number jersey or at least a shirt with a #. However to date none of the refs have enforced that rule in any of the games I`ve played in or seen Spring or Fall.

I think it was to help the refs to actually determine what players couldn`t play due to a suspension etc. Go figure.

Can we get a ref to clarify this issue?

All jerseys must have embroided numbers, team names, player`s last name and atleast two of the team`s jerseys must have a "C" to indentify the team`s captains. Now shut up and play ball!!

huh?
