#2-My Plumber/#7-Larrys
Its no surprise to find My Plumber at or near the top of the division I rankings but it is a little surprising that they ended their season dropping 2/3 games and only beating the last place team by 4 points in the finale. The Larrys have had a successful season in their first year playing division I. I had the Larrys pegged for 4th place until they let me down by losing late in the season to the Coyotes.
The first game between these 2 teams happened in week 1 of the season. My Plumber pulled out a 1 pt win in that game. The Larrys matchup well against certain teams and My Plumber is one of those teams who the Larrys ball give fits to. The Larrys are not known for doing any one thing exceptionally, they just play team football as good as anyone out there and force you to beat them as a team.
My Plumber would rather beat their opponents by more comfortable margins. When they are in rhythme they are almost an impossible team to beat but that has not been the case this season. My Plumber has struggled at times against athletically inferior teams who are simply better organized. Talent, size and athleticism without solid organization will still win you some games, but that`s living on borrowed time. Have they fixed the problem? I don`t think so.
I would have never thought that last night`s game would be a 6-0 affair and its appearing that defense is taking a front seat in these playoffs. Look for this trend to continue tonight and expect a similar game to the first matchup between these two teams but with a different result. I stopped short of calling for an upset last night, but tonight I am going with the Larrys to show up and play their best game of the year and win a close low scoring defensive battle, 10-7.
