It`s hard to do a top 5 poll because registration is still open and we can expect some more teams, but here are my rankings based on the teams that have signed up so far:

B+

1. Christ Central
2. Grayhounds
3. Banditos
4. Titans
5. Magnums
6. United
7. Eagles

B

1. Blazers
2. Overrated
3. The Union
4. Chuds
5. Cougars
6. Platinum
7. 5 Year Plan
8. Raw Dawgs
9. The Storm

To "Wow" - Let`s review, shall we:

B+ - Out of all the B+ teams registered thus far, only 2 played in B+ last year. That would be the Banditos and Titans. Banditos finished last in the division and Titans finished near the bottom as well. CC on the other hand went undefeated for the 2nd year in a row and won the B Division over teams like Grayhounds, Magnums, and United. Grayhounds made it into the semi-finals of the B League and should have been in the championship.

B League - Again look at the standings from last season. Who would you rank above Blazers, Overrated, and The Union? You can`t put teams like Raw Dawgs and The Storm ahead of them. These teams are coming from the C League and Raw Dawgs had a tough enough time moving to the open league in the spring.

correction Kirk...CC have not played United.
United usually play in Fall IFFL. Dont know why they change to Weeknight league.
anywho it should be a good game between them two.

CC played D-Unit and not United. i think CC tied D-Unit when they played them last season.

Not hard to see your flaws in your picking process.

1. Don`t think you can give the #1 rank to a team that hasn`t played in the division. Thats like trying to rank Boise State or Rutgers at #1. Teams that have not seen a top 10 ranking either never or a long time ago.

2. Have to give the teams with experience in their respectd divisons the edge until they prove they are not worthy. Ex. why is Overrated (C team) so high? Struggled in the open just like the Dawgs and only beat the dogs by 1. Either you drop them or move dawgs up.

The Rhinos don`t have enough players that can make the weeknight games so our players will be dispersed among teams in this league. Our team will be playing on Sundays.

Rhino`s always seem to have either the best or top rosters as far as numbers each year, never seem short players. Reg. season or Tourneys talk about pipelines.

Does anyone actually know the actual head count of any given Rhino team?

Yet can`t find 8 players to play weeknights?

Gotta give the fans what they want, that sharp orange under the lights!

Trust me we would like to play weeknights but too many of our players have other commitments (i.e family, work). The one year we attempted to bring in a vast majority of new players to play weeknights it was a tragic disaster.

to Lew Holts

I believe your logic is flawed. So just because Banditos and Titans were in B+ last year that should automatically mean they get the top 2 spots? That`s just nonsensical especially when Banditos finished with only 1 win on the season. Titans were a 3 win team last fall and a 3 win team in the spring. You could make an argument to bump the Titans up a spot or 2, but I`m going w/ the undefeated squad at the #1 spot.

As for the B Division, the teams w/ experience in their division (blazers and union) are near the top. I`m not gonna give props to the Chuds and Cougars just because they`ve played in that division for 1-2 years. You don`t get props for finishing near the bottom half of a division year in and year out.

To "observer" - we football analysts know that D-Unit was pretty much United with like 2 guys from Diesel. And grant it they gave CC some trouble last year (as they finished with a tie), but I didn`t see D-Unit make much noise. Look at it this way D-Unit (United in disguise) is listed behind 3 teams that went further in the B Playoffs and 2 teams that were in B+ last year.

Actually yes you should rank a Banditoes or Titans team over a non divsion team in a "Preseason Poll". For this reason, while CC was laying the smack down in their divsion of less quality teams the Banditos/Titans were getting their a$$ handed to them due to better quality teams. It`s called "stength of schedule". Remember CC is trying to get where these teams are have been.

Out of 2006 Fall season top 5 B+ teams I don`t think CC would be favored to win, could they win? yes but favored NO! Ex. 4 out of 7 losses for the Banditos were decided by 7 points or less. Actually Banditos may not be that bad to assume they can`t hang with a rising B team such as CC, just not good enought to beat the top B+ teams which are now going to make decent A teams.

As far as the teams from B following CC into the B+ need to be ranked were they left off last fall, behind them.

strengh of schedule only works when comparing WINNING teams. Not a team that won 1 game. Your overestimating the difference in competition between the top 5 in B from last year and the bottom 5 from B+ of last year.

If we`re going to follow your logic that "teams from B following CC into the B+ need to be ranked were they left off last fall, behind them" then Magnums would need to be ahead of grayhounds since it was CC vs. Magnums in the championship.

in the "B" the union top 3 you must be crazy, i`d put anybody over them, they should be last...

Kirk I think you got a hold of the wrong plant my friend. Count the leaves. This ain`t Ohio.

I think what Lew is actually trying to say is that if a under .500 B+ team played the teams of the B divsion then their record would improve and No there really shouldn`t a diffrence in caliber of teams as you mention, a bottom B+ = top B. I would expect those same top 5 B teams to suffer the same fait as the bottom B+ teams did when going up against the top 5 in the B+. So Kirk your arugement that an undeated B team could hold such a rank with out playing a down in the B+ is weak. Titans and Banditos have a full B+ season under their belts and should begin this season one step ahead of CC being that CC didn`t even play Spring so that should count for two seasons. I stress should.

Check this, I bet you didn`t notice that Grayhounds actually lost two games this Spring, both to the Sharks. One by which was in the Championship game by 7. Thus your future game of the week. Grayhounds vs CC. All in all there should be some good competition in the B+, But you can argue either way mags ranked over gray if you want, but Mags do have a 2 game loosing streak against the Banditos. If you look at the numbers the teams seem to be even.

Now pass the smoke Kirk.

We had a shytload of injuries last season, but it`ll be fun to start this season off with our full squad intact. Looking forward to battling and earning that `spect back again...

United should be placed higher.

They have beating the Titans at their prime (spring 06) and have d-unit one was of the few that beat grey hounds and tied CC.

Grayhounds have gotten a lot better since last fall.

It should be:
1. Grayhounds
2. CC
3. United
4. Titans
5. Banditos

I see point and your logic.

Explain why a team with not one but two Championships is second behind a team that has only been runner up, yes I see A runner up, that just makes the margin that much closer.

Flip 1 & 2 and you top 5 is good.

The Union was not all there last season. We had flaky attendance and A LOT of injuries forcing people to frequently shift around to different positions they hadnt played or practiced at. We seemed to have remedied that this season by signing up a bigger, more available squad and cutting the dead weight. 1st practice went really well. Look out!

Cruz--You said nothing in your comments. Everyone is now dumber for having read your post. LOL

B-Leauge - Union is a bit bigger on the line and still picking up new players. If we can avoid injuries, we can take a lot of what we`ve learned from the veteran teams in this league and make some noise this season.
