The below information is for all the Spring Fairfax teams. We posted this information on the IFFL, MD, and the IFFL VA message board and figured some of you Fairfax Spring league teams might want to know about the info we posted about the 2007 USFFA National Tournament and how you can obtain a bid to the USFFA.
To get to the point for teams that may be interested in competing for a bid to the 2007 USFFA National Championship Tournament in Allentown, PA December 2007 we have four bids for MD. Below is how MD bids will be given out this year.
As always the IFFL Sunday morning league will play in VA with four to five divisions of eight teams each.
**In addition to the VA division for the 2007 IFFL Spring season IFFL will have two MD divisions of 8 to 10 teams each. Both of the MD division each have one bid to the USFFA.
The regular season division champions from the IFFL/Mont and the IFFL/PG divisions will each get a bid to the 2007 USFFA Tourney this year representing MD.
We are letting the all IFFL and FCFFL teams know this so if you want to have a chance to compete for a bid to the 2007 USFFA National Championship you can play in one of the IFFL/MD divisions and yes if you want your team can still play in the FCFFL night league as well, they are two different leagues.
Why is this set up this way? This is for the teams that don`t know already, VA also has four bids every year to the USFFA National Championship Tournament. All four 2007 VA bids have already been filled from the top four teams that placed in the 2006 VFFA State tournament last December.
To get a VA bid you would have to play in the VFFA "A" VA State Tournament and finish in the Top four in the "A" tournament. The next VFFA "A" VA State Tournament will be in December 2007 and the top four teams in that will get the VA bids but for the 2008 USFFA National Championship Tournament as the 2007 bids have already been filled.
As of right now we do not have a MD State tournament since MD is new to the USFFA. So for now and until MD gets large enough to have a MD State tournament the four MD bids to the USFFA National Championship will be given to division winners from the MD spring and fall leagues. Two bids from the IFFL Spring division winners and the other two bids from the IFFL fall division winners.
If you have any questions about the cost for MD teams, field locations and how MD works within the IFFL spring league just e-mail myself, Tom or Rob will call you back
