When lightening is in the vicinity, play must be suspended for at least 30 minutes.
If there was no lightening, games would have started on time no matter how much rain and wind there was.
If there was no lightening after 8:30, games would have started at 9:00.
There was lightening just before 9:00, which meant games could not start earlier than 9:30. Under these circumstances we usually cancel the earlier game and wait it out to see if we can play the later game(s).
Based on the radar images both myself and Carlton were looking at - more was on the way, so we cancelled the later games as well.
