05/02 : Banditos upend Magnums 21-14
Banditos improve to 5-2 on the season, while Magnums drop to 3-2.
The victory continues a 3 game winning streak for Banditos which now stands at 4 wins in a row.
The loss ends a 2 game winning streak for Magnums.
These teams are very familiar with one another, having now played 5 times. Their previous contest occured in a Fairfax County Flag Football League "B" regular season game Sep 19 2007, 21:50, which Magnums won 28-21. Overall, Banditos is 3-2 against Magnums.
Next up for Banditos is Greyhounds (1-4). That game is scheduled for May 11 2011, 22:00 at Lake Fairfax#1.
Magnums will face off against 7 PT Spread (4-1) on May 11 2011, 20:30 at Arrowhead Park#3.

Great job Banditos! Looks like A league just welcomed a new member to the elite. Magnums are a good but not a easy team to beat. So congrats on this big win. Let`s get a recap.

- Bots start with the ball. March to about midfield. Turnover on downs at midfield.
- Mags get ball, march down the short field score & convert kick (7-0 Mags)
- Bots get ball back, march down field. Score on fade to the left & convert kick (7-7).
- Mags get ball, march back down the field. Score from inside the redzone & convert kick (14-7 Mags).
- Bots get the ball with 2:00 to go. March down field & throw a pick in the endzone (end 1st half).
- Mags get ball march to midfield. Throw a pick.
- Bots score on turnover possession with short field & convert kick (14-14).
- Mags get the ball. Drive stalls on Bots` side of the field.
- Bots score on possession & convert kick (21-14).
- Mags get ball with 2:00. March to midfield. 3 consecutive sacks leaves them with 4th and 3 cones. 4th sack ends the ball game.

Pros:
Mags - took advantage of mobile QB; OL held solid blocks for reasonable amount of time (w/ a few lapses); low "dropped balls" rate (in this league, that`s a stat that can`t be ignored)
Bots - very willing to take the short throws; QB very committed to 3 second or less release; DL rush`s 2nd and 3rd effort; commitment to spying the QB
Cons:
Mags - burned for 2 crucial fades; did not adjust defense to Bots` short throw philosophy; lack of backside throws & rollouts
Bots - missed flags; few blown coverages; maintaining discipline on the pass rush

If Banditos keep this up, next fall will even be more competitive, which other teams may think twice about moving up.
A League Next Fall:
Tripe Crown ( Two trophies, the Godfather of A league)
7pt Spread ( won it in their second season in A league and getting stronger every season)
Novacaine ( hasn`t won a A league ship yet but could win one soon. One of the best of the best in A league)
Magnums ( Won B states, A league and not a team to F with)
Collision ( only if they can bring back their original roster, will they make noise like always)
Spartans ( only beat Novacaine but till a team not to sleep on)
Banditos ( if they can keep this up)

Union folded and Situation chose not to field a team this Spring. I don`t think they are playing again in the Fall. Not sure if they are a Fall only team.
