First Game: LIONS vs. Larry’s
The LIONS smoked Larry’s in the first game of the night. It was no contest. I don’t think that Larry’s knew what they were getting into when they moved up to the FCFFL A League. They teams all have speed and play defense. It is not a shoot-out, first one to score 35 wins, league. I am sure that next year they will have made the team and personnel changes needed to compete at this level.
Second Game: LIONS vs. NOVAs (game of the night)
If you don’t like defense, this game was not for you. This was a defensive struggle. The LIONS defense kept them in the game. They were able to get some turn-overs, but the Offense could not score. The first half was ended 0-0. The second half the NOVAs got the kick off and had the ball for 15:00 min. The drive ended with a NOVAs TD. The NOVAs missed the extra point, leaving an open window for the LIONS. With 5 mins left in the game, the LIONS drove the length of the field. With 1:30+ left in the game ,the LIONS, inside the NOVEs 20, could not convert on a 4th and 5. game over.
Third Game: Kerns vs. Coyotes (blowout)
This game was over before the first half. Kerns were able to jump on the Coyotes early and often. Before you knew it, Kerns had a TD/ a pick/ A second TD and a punt return for a TD. That was all in the first half. I didn’t have to stay for the second half. The game was over by then.
back to you Collinsworth
