""ARTICLE 8. Players may use their hands to grasp, push or pull an opponent in an attempt to get at the Ball Carrier; and may also use their hands for protection in warding off an opponent, or to get at a loose ball.""
This is copy/pasted from the VFFA rulebook, but the officials called it differently, and said it was incorrect when presented with a copy of the rules at the field. I was always taught that a key point of pass rushing was to keep the O-line`s hands off of you, but apparently thats not allowed. So if Tom could clarify EXACTLY what the D line is allowed to do, it would be appreciated, thanks.

If they were hitting someone in the head then that is why. We do not use helmets and having someone hit you in the head or throat is not allowed. Otherwise D-Line men will start to throw punches...

Lets tell the whole story... the call was Defensive Holding,,, So read this out of the rule book....
DEFENSIVE PLAYER: Shall not hold, grasp, orobstruct forward progress of ball carrier when in the act of removing a flag. (10 yard penalty) Exception: (5 yards and first down defensive holding)

Uh yeah you are right about that but you are talking about the progress of the ball carrier where as Helltown is trying to get the ball carrier. Helltown your beef is right with the refs... maybe Tom needs to hold a meeting with the refs. Some refs are lazy and just want the game to be over and wont call anything in most cases. Some are just D!Ck$ and swear they are right and make up rules as they go. Then there are good refs who try to call a fair game. sorry helltown you got the d!ck that night... lol no pun intended. So as players DEMAND nothing but Fair refs who knows the rule book by heart. Coaches and players spend too much money to have things like this happen.

Its funny how people always try to blame someone else,,, Football is a tough game where you need a set of BALLS, maybe some coaches and players just need to stick to PS3 and Xbox...(MADDEN)!!!!!

will screw up calls from time to time. It happens at every level of any sport. I`m not saying they screwed up in your situation but deal with it!
